The Top 3 Questions We Get from New Customers
At Urban Solar, we are in the business of designing, installing, and maintaining high-quality solar power generation equipment that gives our customers more freedom from grid-sourced electricity.
As we have made our name in the residential and commercial solar power industries, we have seen a lot of different applications for this incredible technology. Along with these unique applications, we have received dozens of great questions from customers who are new to solar or who don’t quite know what to expect as they have their system commissioned.
So, we’re spending this weeks blog post on a few of the most commonly asked questions that we get from new customers.
Question #1: “How much will I save on my energy bill?”
This is probably the most common question we get, and we’re generally able to provide a fairly accurate estimate of energy cost savings as long as we can gather the needed information. Some of this information includes the location of the home or business, the existing energy consumption, and the size of the solar power system being considered. Once we have these answers, we can provide a rough estimate of cost savings.
Question #2: “How much do solar panels cost?”
This is an obvious question that we would ask, ourselves, if we were shopping for a solar power system. The answer might surprise you: the solar panels themselves are fairly inexpensive. In fact, some large solar panels can drop to the $100-$200 price range, each. That may seem cheap until you start taking into consideration the labor and additional materials required to install and protect the entire system. For an accurate overall cost, a custom quote is required.
Question #3: “How long does it take to have solar panels installed?”
The solar panels themselves can be installed in as little as a single day. However, there is much more that is needed for the panels to do their job. Wiring, inverters, conduit and other hardware needs to be ordered and installed, also. This can add to the project timeline significantly. Similar to question #2 above, only a formal quote can best answer this question.
